Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Peter Davidson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Elkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Davidson!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cody Elkins!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davidson has taken the fight to the clinch.

Davidson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Elkins fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Elkins shoots for a takedown but Davidson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Davidson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Elkins sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Elkins changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Davidson tries to avoid it but Elkins manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Davidson to the ground. Davidson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Elkins connects with a nice short shot to Davidson's temple.

Elkins has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Elkins looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Davidson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Elkins has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Davidson has managed to get both his arms back between Elkins's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Elkins tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Davidson swivels and escapes.

Elkins shoots in for a double leg but Davidson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Elkins dives in and grabs Davidson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Davidson pushes down on Elkins's head and hops out.
Peter Davidson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cody Elkins.
Elkins shoots in for a takedown but Davidson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Davidson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Elkins did well to prevent Davidson getting side control.

Davidson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Elkins with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Davidson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Elkins looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Davidson is defending well. Elkins quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Davidson has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Elkins celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Cody Elkins! Cody Elkins retains his featherweight title!
