Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Dolpies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Lancing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joseph Dolpies!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kyle Lancing!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Anthony Taglia and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lancing avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dolpies stuffs the takedown attempt from Lancing. Lancing gets slowly back to his feet.

Dolpies closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lancing did well to prevent Dolpies getting side control.

Lancing looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Dolpies is trying to control the action in half guard but Lancing is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Dolpies knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lancing on the ground.
Dolpies with the ground and pound but Lancing uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Dolpies looking to sit in guard and control but Lancing gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lancing accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Dolpies pushes Lancing off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Dolpies fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lancing uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dolpies.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dolpies has gone for a leg lock! Lancing slips out almost immediately though and dives into Dolpies's guard.

Lancing distracts Dolpies with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Dolpies is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dolpies seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lancing does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lancing tries to hold on but Dolpies pushes him away.

Dolpies moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Lancing has worked his arm free - good work by Lancing!
Dolpies wants to stand but Lancing is controlling his arm.

Dolpies throws a nice looking combination but Lancing bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Lancing gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dolpies to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dolpies utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Lancing stands and steps away. Dolpies gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Dolpies shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lancing is trying to defend but Dolpies finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Lancing has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dolpies is working away from the top position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Joseph Dolpies.
Well Dolpies has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
