Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Andre Cerimonia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Laidlaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kyle Laidlaw struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 136.7lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Kyle Laidlaw looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andre Cerimonia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kyle Laidlaw!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cerimonia fails with a takedown attempt.
Laidlaw fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Laidlaw tries to close the distance and clinch but Cerimonia swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Cerimonia fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Laidlaw sprawls well initially but Cerimonia persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Cerimonia tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Laidlaw.
Cerimonia controlling the pace.
Laidlaw keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Cerimonia's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Cerimonia works his way into full mount!

Laidlaw tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Cerimonia controlling the position easily from mount.
Laidlaw manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Laidlaw looks gassed!
Cerimonia slows the pace down in half guard.
Cerimonia thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Laidlaw is trying to maintain the position but Cerimonia is very close to passing his half guard.
Laidlaw has hold of Cerimonia's hands but Cerimonia slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Cerimonia seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Cerimonia is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Cerimonia takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Andre Cerimonia just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Cerimonia drives through and clinches with Laidlaw against the ropes.
Cerimonia lands an uppercut.
Cerimonia tries to break free but Laidlaw pushes him back against the ropes.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Cerimonia lands a body punch in the clinch.

Cerimonia gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Cerimonia sitting in guard here, content to control.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Cerimonia wants to control from the top but Laidlaw keeps moving.
Cerimonia passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Cerimonia controls the position.
Cerimonia looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Laidlaw is avoiding damage well.

Cerimonia seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Laidlaw for as long as he can get away with.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Cerimonia's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Cerimonia works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Cerimonia thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Laidlaw is letting Cerimonia control him for a moment.
Laidlaw is breathing heavily.
Cerimonia wants to lay and pray for a moment but Laidlaw keeps working.

Cerimonia has an Americana. Laidlaw didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Cerimonia is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Cerimonia hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
