PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Reg Magno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Romero Dizon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magno fails in his attempt to clinch.
Dizon dives in and grabs Magno's left leg, looking for a takedown. Magno pushes down on Dizon's head and hops out.

Dizon tries to roll over but Magno keeps him under control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dizon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Magno can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Magno wants to get up but he can't break Dizon's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Magno forces Dizon back against the cage and clinches.
Dizon tries to circle away but Magno has him pinned against the cage.
Magno gets underhooks to prevent Dizon's takedown attempt.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Magno creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Magno tightens his grip and picks Dizon up, before dumping him to the ground. Dizon manages to land in guard.

Dizon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Magno is looking to stand up but Dizon isn't so interested in that idea.

Magno has his feet on Dizon's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Magno wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dizon keeps working.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Dizon turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Dizon manages to end up in side control.
You can see the frustration on Magno's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Magno is on top in guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Magno postures up in Dizon's guard and throws a big left but Dizon blocks it.

Magno slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Magno cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
