Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruno Ferro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter comes to the cage accompanied by Walkie Talkie - DJ Shadow. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Andrew Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bruno Ferro!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter dives in and grabs Ferro's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ferro pushes down on Carter's head and hops out.

Carter's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Carter duly obliges.
Ferro takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Carter swats away the attempt to clinch by Ferro.
Ferro misses with a head kick.
Ferro is looking to clinch but Carter is avoiding it.
Carter throws a combination. Ferro tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Ferro looking to land some kicks to the body here.

and Carter counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Carter is trying to work for a kimura but Ferro is defending well.

Carter with the ground and pound but Ferro uses the opportunity to regain guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carter won't allow Ferro to sweep him here.
Ferro is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Carter throws a strike but Ferro rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Carter is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ferro is aware though and is defending well.

Carter manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Ferro is squirming around, avoiding Carter's attempts to control the action.

Carter swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Ferro is now in Carter's guard. A big mistake from Carter there, giving up the dominant position!

Carter wants to hit a switch here but Ferro passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Carter there!

Ferro can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Carter is looking to escape.
Ferro takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Carter sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Ferro looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Carter is looking to improve his position.
Carter is working hard here to advance position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ferro throws a big shot that misses.
Ferro wants to clinch but Carter slips to the side
and Carter counters with a right hand to the body.
Ferro tries to clinch up but Carter circles away and keeps his distance.
Carter blocks a head kick by Ferro.
Carter scores with the left hand. Ferro knows he should have avoided that one.
Ferro uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Carter.
Ferro tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Carter paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ferro tries to clinch but Carter moves out of range.
Ferro connects with a high kick.
Ferro misses with a takedown

and Carter counters with a shoot takedown. Ferro fights it but they end up in guard.
Carter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Carter prevents Ferro from getting back to his feet.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Carter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Carter passes Ferro's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Carter is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ferro doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Carter.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Carter counters with a straight right hand.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Ferro avoids the body shot from Carter.
Carter throws out a loose jab but Ferro uses good head movement to avoid it.

Carter bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ferro is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Carter off and has taken his back!
Ferro is hanging on to Carter's back as he tries to escape.
Ferro is not going to allow Carter to sit and survive in this position.

Carter is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

I would not like to be Carter right now.
Carter is trying to break free.
Carter is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Ferro.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ferro is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Carter can't escape the position.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Ferro controlling the positon.
Carter tries to roll but Ferro sticks to his back.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

That's time! Carter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Carter takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Carter drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ferro manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Carter has Ferro in his guard.

Bruno Ferro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ferro tries to clinch but Carter moves away
enabling Carter to counter with a crisp jab.
Carter keeps the fight on the outside.
Ferro tries to clinch but Carter moves out of range.
Carter blocks a head kick by Ferro.
Ferro throws a leg kick but Carter checks it.
Bruno Ferro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carter sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

and Carter counters with a shoot takedown. Ferro fights it but they end up in guard.
Ferro is looking to stand up but Carter isn't so interested in that idea.
Ferro is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Carter throws a strike but Ferro rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Carter tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Ferro stands and steps away. Carter gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Ferro finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Carter bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ferro throws a shot to the body.
Carter avoids the head kick by Ferro.
Ferro fails in his attempt to clinch.

Ferro scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Bruno Ferro.
Well Carter has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
