Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jan Mathisen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Corny Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Corny Dog has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dog gets caught flat footed, as Mathisen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Dog wants to sweep but no luck.
Mathisen trying to control the position from guard on top but Dog is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mathisen preventing the sweep.
Mathisen slips nicely into half guard.
Mathisen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dog does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mathisen wants to stand up but Dog manages to regain full guard.
Dog lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mathisen!
Dog landing strikes from the mount.
Mathisen is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Mathisen wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Dog.

Dog lands with some strikes.
Dog throwing strikes but Mathisen bucks up and reverses the position. He's now in guard on top.
Dog wants to pass the guard but Mathisen is keeping the position.
Dog trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Dog loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dog postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Mathisen trying to keep a closed guard but Dog is proving a slippery customer.
Mathisen has momentary wrist control but Dog slips an elbow through the middle.
Dog throws a strike but Mathisen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Mathisen is sitting in close to Dog's body. Dog has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Mathisen is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Mathisen is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Dog.
