The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayato tries to clinch there but Jaffar circles away.

Hayato gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hayato can't keep his opponent in guard - Jaffar advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Jaffar slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hayato stops Jaffar from passing to mount.
Hayato gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Jaffar goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Hayato turns into him and now he's in Jaffar's guard.
Jaffar is breathing heavily.
Hayato preventing the sweep.

Jaffar wants to hit a switch here but Hayato passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Jaffar there!
Jaffar tries to reverse the position but Hayato maintains control.
Jaffar sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Hayato has control of Jaffar's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Jaffar regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Jaffar is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Hayato jumps into side control!
Jaffar is looking to reverse the position.
Jaffar is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Jaffar is looking to improve his position.
Jaffar makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jaffar.
Jaffar wants to improve his position but instead Hayato has moved into half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Said Jaffar will probably get the nod.

Hayato misses with a takedown attempt

Jaffar is pressing down on Hayato's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hayato is holding on for now.

Hayato has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Jaffar has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Hayato is defending well but eventually Jaffar manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Hayato has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
