Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dustin Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulo rodrigo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paulo rodrigo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
rodrigo looks for a takedown but Drake sprawls well.
Drake stuffs the takedown.

rodrigo closes the distance and clinches.
rodrigo lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Drake backwards.
Drake misses with a punch on the inside.
A right hand to the body from rodrigo.
Drake swings wildly with an uppercut but rodrigo uses good head movement to avoid it.

rodrigo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Drake throws a combination but it was largely blocked by rodrigo.

Drake knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for rodrigo on the ground.

Drake is staying active underneath rodrigo, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
rodrigo is pressing down on Drake's thigh, looking to free his foot. Drake is holding on for now.

rodrigo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
rodrigo is trying to control the action in half guard but Drake is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

rodrigo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

rodrigo decides to stand up.
Drake misses with a straight left.

rodrigo fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Drake on the side of the head.
Drake on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
A slow jab from rodrigo misses its intended target.
Drake throws a series of punches but rodrigo avoids them all with ease.
rodrigo takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

rodrigo feints and as Drake raises his hands in defense, rodrigo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Drake on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Drake tries to get out of the position.

rodrigo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Drake manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now rodrigo has Drake in his guard.

rodrigo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
rodrigo wants to control but Drake passes easily into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

rodrigo manages to escape and get back to his feet!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

A jab from Drake does it's job there.
Drake misses the jab.
Drake lands with a nice combination. rodrigo backs away looking to recover.

Dustin Drake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paulo rodrigo.
No joy there for rodrigo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Drake throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent rodrigo stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

and rodrigo counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by rodrigo.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
rodrigo wants to control but Drake is keeping him busy.

rodrigo is trying to ground and pound but Drake uses the momentary lack of control by rodrigo to regain half guard.

Drake throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

rodrigo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Drake circles away.
rodrigo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Drake tries to avoid it but rodrigo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Drake to the ground. Drake escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
rodrigo moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

rodrigo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - rodrigo lands in his opponent's guard.

rodrigo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Drake is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of rodrigo, into his guard.

That's time! Drake's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Drake looks to score with a jab to the body but rodrigo is just out of range.

rodrigo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Drake knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
rodrigo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Drake keeps working.

Drake throws a shot from downtown. rodrigo moves away and avoids it.

I would just about give that final round to Paulo rodrigo.
