The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brooks shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Brooks showed some decent athleticism there.

Brooks seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

brasi is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Brooks pulls his head out easily.

Brooks is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Brooks got a little sloppy there for a moment and brasi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Brooks has managed to get both his arms back between brasi's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Brooks looking to sit in guard and control but brasi gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
