Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Manny Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonny Lipton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lipton has chosen Scorpions - No One Like You as his entrance music. Lipton has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lipton shoots for a takedown but Ortiz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ortiz throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Ortiz could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lipton can do anything to dispel that myth.
Lipton tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ortiz wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

and Ortiz counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Ortiz seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lipton for as long as he can get away with.
