Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nils Dacke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Saber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saber is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Walk This Way. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nils Dacke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lucas Saber!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dacke digs a good hook to Saber's body.
Dacke fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Dacke is trying hard to land a takedown here. Saber sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Dacke keeps the fight on the outside.
Saber lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dacke circles away quickly and effectively.
Dacke throws a head kick that Saber semi-blocks.
Saber with a poor takedown

and Dacke counters with a nice double leg into side control. Saber won't be happy with that.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dacke working away.
Dacke wants to lay and pray for a moment but Saber keeps working.
Dacke misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Saber holding on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Saber tries to bench press Dacke off him but Dacke keeps the position.
Saber regains half guard.
Saber is trying to maintain the position but Dacke is very close to passing his half guard.
Saber keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Saber blocking the ground and pound attempt from Dacke.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dacke decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Dacke is breathing heavily.
Saber throws a body kick the misses
and Dacke counters with a series of strikes. Saber will be more careful next time no doubt.
Saber fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Dacke forces Saber back against the cage and clinches.

Dacke decides to pull guard.
Saber missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Saber lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Saber postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Saber pushes down on Dacke's leg and manages to get into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Saber postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Dacke to stand up.
Saber scores with a kick to the body.

Saber closes the distance and clinches.

Dacke manages to break the clinch.

Saber pushes Dacke up against the cage in a clinch.

Dacke breaks from the clinch.
Saber gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Dacke counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Dacke tries to pull guard but Saber holds him up against the cage and eventually Dacke drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nils Dacke. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Saber tries to break the clinch but Dacke is controlling the position.
Saber goes for a takedown attempt but Dacke pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Saber throws a one two combo.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Saber misses with a double jab.
Nice jab there from Saber.
Saber scores with a three punch combo!
Saber misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Dacke closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Saber wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Dacke is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Saber breaks from the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dacke shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Saber counter with a right hand.

Saber has managed to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nils Dacke dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Saber throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dacke.
Saber misses with a wild body shot.
Saber misses with a takedown
and Dacke counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Saber throws a combination that misses
and Dacke counters with a slapping leg kick.
Dacke lets loose with a powerful body kick. Saber will feel that in the morning.
Dacke will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Dacke shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Saber napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Saber can't do much from the bottom here.
Saber tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dacke wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

You can see the frustration on Saber's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Saber is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Dacke cracks Saber with a big right hand but Saber just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Saber is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Dacke is keen to just control but Saber is a slippery customer.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Saber moves into full guard.
Saber not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Dacke has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Saber has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Dacke has passed into side control.
Saber is pushing Dacke's head away, looking to escape. Dacke manages to hold on to the position though.
Saber is trying to improve his position.

Saber is trying to work for a sweep but Dacke has mounted him!
Saber tries to hold on but Dacke postures up.
Dacke tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
You get the feeling that Saber really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dacke trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Saber wants to control but Dacke is having none of it.
Dacke fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Saber trying desperately to get to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Saber tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nils Dacke dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Dacke tries to close the distance and clinch up but Saber swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Saber throws a left and a right that both miss
and Dacke counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Saber swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Dacke counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Saber gets back to full guard.
Saber wants to get back to his feet but Dacke is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Saber controlling the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Dacke trying to control the position from guard on top but Saber is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Saber seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Saber keeping moving, preventing Dacke from controlling successfully.
Saber preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Saber scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Lucas Saber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Dacke takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Saber closes the distance but Dacke moves to the side

and Dacke counters by clinching up.
Saber working hard to break the clinch.
Saber is trying to force a seperation but Dacke has the dominant position.

Dacke is fighting off a takedown attempt but Saber is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Dacke to the mat. Dacke regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Saber thows a big elbow that misses.
Dacke avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Saber wants to stand but Dacke is controlling his posture from full guard.
Dacke keeping full guard, as Saber tries to pass.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Saber would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Dacke working a defensive guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Saber gets to his feet - Dacke follows without any prompting.

Dacke shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Dacke looking to finish Saber with some ground and pound. This is bad for Saber!
Saber really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Dacke looking to control but Saber is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Dacke prevents Saber from getting the reversal.
Lucas Saber has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dacke wants to control the pace but Saber is squirming around nicely.
Saber keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Nils Dacke showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Dacke has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
