PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aschen Breaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darius Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Ellis's choice of entrance music: D-Town Boogie. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darius Ellis!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Breaker shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Ellis looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Breaker gets the takedown into side control.
Breaker controls the position.
Ellis is not content to let Breaker control the position.
Breaker staying calm.
Ellis is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Breaker off and has taken his back!
A bit of a pause in the action here. Ellis controlling the positon.
Breaker turns into Ellis and is now in his guard.
Ellis keeping moving, preventing Breaker from controlling successfully.

Breaker drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Breaker jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Breaker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ellis swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Breaker forces his way into half guard.
Breaker moves into full mount! Ellis won't be happy about that!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ellis swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Ellis wants to control but Breaker is having none of it.
Ellis is squirming around, avoiding Breaker's attempts to control the action.
Ellis tries to control Breaker's body but Breaker pushes him off. Ellis squirms to his side and now Breaker has his back!
Ellis tries to break free.
Ellis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Breaker has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Ellis has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Breaker has his opponent's back but Ellis is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Breaker.

Breaker looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Ellis can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Breaker controls the pace.
Breaker wants to control from the top but Ellis keeps moving.
Ellis looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Ellis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Breaker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Breaker is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Breaker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Breaker keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Ellis's head.

Breaker is really struggling to control Ellis but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Breaker slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Ellis stops Breaker from passing to mount.
Breaker trying to control the action but Ellis is working from the bottom.
Ellis is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ellis keeps the fight on the outside.
Breaker checks a low kick from Ellis.
Ellis lands a jab-cross combination.
Nice takedown defense from Ellis. No joy for Breaker on that attempt.
Breaker shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ellis as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aschen Breaker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Breaker misses with a takedown attempt - Ellis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Ellis moves into the clinch.

Breaker gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Ellis is not content to let Breaker control the position.
Ellis on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Breaker moves into full mount! Ellis won't be happy about that!
Breaker trying to control but Ellis is having none of it.
Breaker moves to the back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Breaker connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Ellis to escape the position.

It looks like Darius Ellis has been cut.
Breaker lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Breaker is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Ellis with him. Ellis is trying to defend but Breaker has an arm under the chin now! Ellis grimaces and is forced to tap out!
