Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Virgil Earp!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Earp throws a body kick that misses.
Davis shoots for a double leg takedown but Earp sprawls well. He's pushed Davis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Earp tries to clinch but Davis moves out of range.

Davis looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Davis with the ground and pound but Earp uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Earp wants to stand up but Davis is controlling him.
Earp keeping moving, preventing Davis from controlling successfully.
Davis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Davis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Earp does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Davis throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Earp throws a sloppy head kick and Davis moves out of range easily.
Earp swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A low kick from Davis is predictable there
and Earp counters with a body kick that stops Davis in his tracks momentarily.
Davis is breathing heavily.
Davis takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Earp swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Davis.
Earp throws a head kick but Davis moves out of range.

and Earp counters by moving into the clinch.

Earp lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Davis.

A left hand lands to the body for Earp.
Earp lands with a light punch inside.
Earp works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Earp scores with a nice hook to the head.
Earp makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Earp scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Davis is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Earp pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phil Davis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Davis's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Earp lands a right hand that snaps the head of Davis backwards.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Virgil Earp dominated that round.

Earp is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Davis throws a leg kick that is checked
and Earp makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Davis really felt that one!
Virgil Earp seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Davis avoids a punch combination nicely.
Horrible takedown by Davis or perhaps it was just good defense by Earp which made him look bad.
Earp misses the jab.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Davis throws a leg kick
and Earp counters with a right hand to the body.
Earp connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Davis's hands.
Davis tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Earp looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Earp lands with a kick to the temple. Davis shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"


It looks like Phil Davis has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Earp lands a brutal head kick. Davis looks out on his feet and Earp throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
