Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Viraj Mithani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sandro Abruzzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Viraj Mithani has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Viraj Mithani!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sandro Abruzzi!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Steve Montenegro and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Mithani. Abruzzi does a little dance to reset his feet.
Nice defenses there by Mithani.
Viraj Mithani seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A punch combination from Mithani misses.
Mithani throws out a loose jab but Abruzzi uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mithani misses the shot to the body.
Mithani with a body punch. A glancing blow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Abruzzi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mithani pinned against the cage. Mithani gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Abruzzi is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Abruzzi moves away from the strike by Mithani.
Abruzzi is trying desperately to land a takedown but Mithani is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Abruzzi.

Abruzzi tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Mithani dodges the ground and pound from Abruzzi.

Abruzzi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Mithani manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Abruzzi walks into a jab.
Mithani stalks Abruzzi and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Abruzzi's face. Abruzzi staggers backwards, shaken.
Mithani misses with the combination.
Abruzzi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mithani as he jumps to the side.
Viraj Mithani has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sandro Abruzzi.

Mithani throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mithani throws a series of punches but Abruzzi moves out of range.
Mithani misses with a few strikes there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Abruzzi checks a leg kick nicely.
Abruzzi slips a jab and a cross from Mithani.
Mithani moves out of range of the strikes.
Mithani tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Abruzzi drives through with a takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Abruzzi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Mithani lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Abruzzi keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mithani is looking to chop away at Abruzzi's legs.
Mithani lands with a hook. Abruzzi tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Abruzzi avoids the body shot from Mithani.
Abruzzi on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

A right-left combo lands from Mithani.
Abruzzi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Abruzzi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mithani is fending him off so far but Abruzzi persists. Nope, Mithani circles away and we're back to standing.
Mithani sizes up Abruzzi with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
A left lands for Mithani.
Mithani fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Abruzzi manages to avoid it.

Mithani wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Abruzzi takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Mithani is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Mithani misses with a jab, cross combination.
A cross from Mithani lands.
Mithani misses with a looping right.
Mithani looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

No joy there for Mithani, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mithani fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Abruzzi.
Viraj Mithani is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mithani misses with a straight left.
Mithani misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mithani lands a body shot.

Mithani misses with a few strikes there.
Sandro Abruzzi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Mithani misses with a series of wild punches.
Mithani throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mithani, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
