The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis throws an overhand right that lands on Springer's shoulder, as Springer tries to avoid the shot.
Lewis will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Lewis misses with a low kick.
Springer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lewis pinned against the cage. Lewis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Springer is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Lewis.


It looks like Jerry Springer has been cut.
Lewis stuffs the takedown attempt from Springer. Springer gets slowly back to his feet.
Lewis will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Springer. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

The fighters circling - Lewis throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Lewis fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Springer looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Lennon Lewis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Springer takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Lewis throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lewis just misses with a punch to the body.
Lewis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Springer moves away.

Springer thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lewis's head.

Springer is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lewis is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lewis has escaped and now he's on top!
Springer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Lennon Lewis is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Springer tries for a takedown but Lewis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Springer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lewis sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Springer somewhat.
