Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Danny Cardon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dirk Pitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pitt comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Dancing in the Dark kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Thiago Cunha and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cardon drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Pitt can't keep his opponent in guard - Cardon advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Pitt tries to get to full guard but Cardon has control of the leg.
Cardon takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Cardon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pitt for as long as he can get away with.
Pitt is not content to let Cardon control the position.
Cardon performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cardon throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Ground and pound from Cardon.
Cardon is keen to just control but Pitt is a slippery customer.
Pitt tries to roll over but Cardon keeps him under control.
Cardon stalling away here and it's allowed Pitt to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Cardon pushing down on Pitt's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Pitt is in trouble now - Cardon has advanced to mount!
Cardon prevents Pitt from getting the reversal.
Cardon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Pitt tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cardon lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Pitt hang on?
Cardon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pitt is looking to escape.

Cardon lands a nice shot to the head.
Cardon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cardon pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
It looks like Dirk Pitt has been cut.

That has opened up Dirk Pitt's cut even more.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dirk Pitt's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Dirk Pitt's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
