The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carano looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Rutten thuds his right hand into Carano's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Carano on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Rutten. Rutten obviously looking to wear him down.
Rutten lands a front kick.
Rutten lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Carano scores with a three punch combo!
Rutten punishes Carano's body with a nice straight punch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Carano takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Rutten closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Nice elbow from Rutten.
Rutten pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rutten with a nice cross.
Rutten misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rutten throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Rutten jabs at Carano's body.
Carano is breathing heavily.
Carano takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Rutten connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Rutten! Carano is out on his feet! Rutten rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Carano is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Carano is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
