The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Heikki shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Alveraze manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Heikki slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Heikki wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alveraze keeps working.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Heikki is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Alveraze knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Heikki has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Alveraze swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Helppo Heikki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alveraze has his takedown stuffed

and Heikki counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Alveraze!

Alveraze is trying desperately to improve position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Heikki with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Alveraze wants to control but Heikki is having none of it.

Alveraze bucks up and throws Heikki to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!
Heikki throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Alveraze on the side of the head.
Heikki swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Alveraze has his takedown stuffed
and Heikki counters with a huge uppercut, hook combination that drops Alveraze! The ref has seen enough - he's dived in to stop the fight! Brutal strikes by Heikki!
