PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Grey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Probert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grey comes into the arena with I've Got the Power blaring out of the sound system. Probert comes into a darkened arena with his song building. walk (pantera) kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Bob Probert enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Bob Probert!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grey comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Probert is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Probert moves into the clinch.
Grey goes for a takedown attempt but Probert pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Probert stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Probert wants it to stay on the feet.
Grey lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Probert backs up against the cage.
Probert shoots in looking for a takedown. Grey tries to sprawl out of it but Probert keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Grey manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Grey scores with a one two! Probert had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Grey rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Probert moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

That was a close round but I would say that Gabriel Grey will probably get the nod.

Probert drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Grey dodges the ground and pound from Probert.
Grey is trying to control Probert's posture but Probert avoids it.

Probert is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Probert is breathing heavily.
Grey changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Probert fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Grey is fighting off a takedown attempt but Probert is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Grey to the mat. Grey regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Probert got a little sloppy there for a moment and Grey has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Probert has managed to get both his arms back between Grey's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Probert stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Grey swivels though and keeps the full guard.
