Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Romulo Correa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Gordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gordon is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: High Fidelity - Top Five Side 1s Track 1s. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Romulo Correa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rob Gordon!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Correa throws a wild body kick that Gordon sees coming a mile off.
Gordon shoots in for a double leg but Correa sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Gordon shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Correa napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Gordon working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Correa is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Gordon thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Gordon goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Correa has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Gordon but great work by Correa.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Gordon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Correa can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Correa connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Gordon to the floor! Correa dives in looking for the finish!

It looks like Rob Gordon has been cut.
Correa wants to stand but Gordon has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Gordon is still in real trouble! Can Correa finish him?

Correa moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Gordon.
Gordon seems to have recovered his senses.
Correa wants to stand but Gordon has his arm trapped.
Correa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gordon on the ground.
Gordon tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Correa presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Gordon closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Gordon jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Correa walks away with a smile on his face. Gordon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Correa swats away the attempt to clinch by Gordon.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gordon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Correa tries to avoid it but Gordon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Correa to the ground. Correa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Correa, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
