The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Lionheart. No joy for Deric on that attempt.

I looks like Deric might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Deric is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Lionheart lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Deric circles away quickly and effectively.

Lionheart throws the kick towards the body but Deric avoids it.
Deric fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lionheart manages to avoid it.

Deric takes one on the button.
Lionheart leaves Deric with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lionheart throws a right and a left that Deric avoids nicely.
Ivan Lionheart is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Deric shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lionheart pinned against the cage. Lionheart gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Deric shoots in looking for a takedown. Lionheart tries to sprawl out of it but Deric keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lionheart manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Deric swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lionheart throws a right and a left that both miss.
