Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mana Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sterling Archer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mana Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sterling Archer!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva closes the distance and pushes Archer back into the cage.

Silva successfully pulls guard.
Archer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Archer stands up and waves to Silva to follow him.

Silva shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Silva showed some decent athleticism there.
Silva is looking to take a break and control but Archer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Archer is trying to get back to full guard.
Silva trying to pass the guard but Archer defending well.
Silva landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Silva winds up and cracks Archer with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva is trying to control. Archer wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Archer wants to clinch

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Archer wants to improve his position but Silva is controlling well.
Silva prevents Archer from standing back up.
Silva not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Archer is trying to stand back up but Silva is controlling him
Silva tries to pass to full mount but Archer defends it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Silva jumps guard but Archer stands there with Silva around his waist. Silva gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Silva fails to pull guard.
Archer using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Silva is breathing heavily.
Silva tries to pull guard but Archer holds him up against the cage and eventually Silva drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mana Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Archer.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Archer throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Silva dodges an elbow strike from Archer.
Silva avoiding damage as Archer throws knees to the body.
Archer throws an elbow but it misses.
Archer pushes off an throws an elbow but Silva leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Silva presses Archer against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Archer tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Silva blocks an elbow strike.

Silva jumps guard and drags Archer to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Archer is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Silva is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Silva has escaped and now he's on top!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mana Silva dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Silva darts in and clinches Archer up against the cage.
Silva jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Archer walks away with a smile on his face. Silva gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Archer wants to clinch

and Silva counters with a shoot takedown. Archer fights it but they end up in guard.
Archer trying to keep a closed guard but Silva is proving a slippery customer.
Silva working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Silva advances position into side control!
Archer takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Archer is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Silva asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Silva lands a decent elbow from side control.
Archer is letting Silva control him for a moment.

Silva is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Archer is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Silva slows the pace down.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Archer defending against the ground and pound.
Silva taking a break here but Archer is having none of it and regains half guard.
Archer tries to get to full guard but Silva has control of the leg.
Archer pushes Silva off looking to stand but Silva dives back in and keeps control.

Silva looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Archer actively working from the bottom here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Archer moves into the clinch successfully.
Archer comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Silva misses with a knee strike.

Silva managing to block the knees to the body from Archer.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Archer just misses with a elbow thrown towards Silva's brow.
Archer lands an elbow that stopped Silva in his tracks for a moment.
Archer is trying to break the clinch but Silva has him pressed against the cage.
Archer throws an elbow that misses.
Silva tries to pull guard but Archer won't allow it.

Archer has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Mana Silva dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into side control. Archer won't be happy with that.

Silva goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Archer rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Silva's guard! Nice work there by Archer!
Archer passes Silva's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Silva slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Archer is looking to work some ground and pound but Silva has wrist control.

Archer wants to pass the guard but Silva is keeping the position.

Archer stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Silva tries to break free but Archer pushes him back against the cage.

Archer landing knees to the body.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Archer.

Archer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Silva counters with a takedown into side control.
Archer is looking for a sweep.
Silva trying to control the position but Archer is working away.
Silva is really struggling to control Archer but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Archer tries to buck Silva off but Silva is having none of it.
Archer is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Silva off and has taken his back!

Archer is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Silva is defending well though. Archer let's go of the attempt for now.
Sterling Archer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Archer doesn't have the hooks in and Silva manages to turn into his guard.
Mana Silva is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Silva slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Archer managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Silva.

Silva stands up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mana Silva showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Silva, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
