Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between nate towles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Redman - Da goodness kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! nate towles has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Smith!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
towles fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Smith moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
towles is looking to clinch but Smith is avoiding it.

Smith gets a takedown into half guard.
towles is trying to get back to full guard.
towles is staying active underneath Smith, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Smith is working for a submission of some sort.

Smith is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so towles is just riding it out for now. Smith eventually gives up the hold.

Smith is trying to work for a kimura but towles is defending well.

Smith looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

towles is trying to get back to full guard.

towles is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Smith pulls his head out easily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Smith gets the takedown into side control.
towles tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Smith easily slips into full mount!
Smith lands a nice shot to the head.
Smith raining down shots from the mount!
towles tries to improve his position but instead Smith has taken his back!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on towles's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
towles is breathing heavily.
towles is trying to stand back up.
I would not like to be towles right now.
Smith trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Smith is trying to stick to towles's back but towles is turning into Smith. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Smith's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by towles.

Smith working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. towles doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. towles manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

towles is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Smith has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. towles is looking to defend but Smith has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for towles! Smith pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, towles taps out and this one is all over!
