PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Igor Peinetti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Risto Korpisuo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Korpisuo has chosen Humpparaakki by Eläkeläiset as his entrance music. Risto Korpisuo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

You get the feeling that Peinetti really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Korpisuo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Korpisuo working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Peinetti is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Korpisuo scores with a couple of nice shots.

Korpisuo thows a huge punch but Peinetti dodges it nicely.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Korpisuo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Korpisuo looks to land a strike but Peinetti avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Peinetti is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Korpisuo is controlling him.
Korpisuo postures up in Peinetti's guard and throws a big left but Peinetti blocks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Risto Korpisuo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Korpisuo stops Peinetti from getting back to his feet.
Korpisuo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Korpisuo connects with a nice short shot to Peinetti's temple.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Peinetti has hold of Korpisuo's hands but Korpisuo slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Korpisuo is trying for a kimura here. Peinetti looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Korpisuo wins by kimura!
