Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Victor Sagat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Sapp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Victor Sagat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bob Sapp!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sagat lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


It looks like Bob Sapp has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sagat fails with a takedown attempt.
Sapp blocks a head kick by Sagat.

Sapp closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sagat to the mat! Sagat manages to get full guard.
Sagat is trying to keep Sapp in close.
Sagat looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sapp is one step ahead there.

Sapp's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Sagat is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sapp accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Sapp shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sagat manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Sagat wants to get back to his feet but Sapp is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Sagat utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sapp decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Sagat pushes Sapp off and gets back to his feet.
Sapp shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sagat as he jumps to the side.

Sagat tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Sagat lands a jab to the nose.
Sagat misses with a body shot.

Sagat lands a big head kick that sends Sapp tumbling to the mat! Sagat takes a step backwards and waves Sapp back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sapp avoids the body shot from Sagat.
Sapp tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Sagat looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Victor Sagat. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sapp chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Sagat can pounce on him.
Sapp bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Sagat's head.
Sagat closes the distance and clinches up with Sapp, looking for a takedown. Sagat pushes Sapp against the cage but Sapp circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Sapp throws a nice looking combination but Sagat bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

so Sapp counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Sapp has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Sagat is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Sagat thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Sagat wants to stand but Sapp is controlling the position.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Sagat displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sapp.
Sapp tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sagat swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Victor Sagat is winning the standup battle so far.
Sapp moves in looking to clinch but Sagat pushes him off.
Victor Sagat is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sagat throws a head kick that half lands.

Sagat gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Sagat is pressed up against the cage. Sapp has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sagat down to the mat. Sagat avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Sagat decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Sapp gets to his feet - Sagat follows without any prompting.

Sagat forces Sapp back against the cage and clinches.
Sagat landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Sapp leaves Sagat with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Sapp doesn't manage to clinch there - Sagat circles away.

Sapp shoots in and drives through. Sagat sprawls well.
Victor Sagat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bob Sapp.

Sagat's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sagat misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Sagat is trying to stand back up but Sapp is controlling him

Sagat is refusing to be controlled, as Sapp sits in half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sapp stops Sagat from getting back to his feet.
Sapp is looking to advance position but Sagat won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Sagat shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sagat was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sagat is landing with some decent strikes but Sapp is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Sapp is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Sapp is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Sagat lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Sapp is desperately trying to improve his position but Sagat has a good base and remains in mount.
Bob Sapp has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Victor Sagat is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sagat, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
