Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Harry Bach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Malone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bach comes to the cage accompanied by In the House In a Heartbeat. Malone is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Yolanda Be Cool - We No Speak Americano. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Patrick Malone!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bach lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Malone throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Bach throws a series of punches but Malone moves out of range.
Bach throws the left hand but Malone avoids the punch easily.
Malone on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Malone closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Good exchange - Bach coming out on top.
Bach thuds a left hand into Malone's body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bach shoots for a takedown but Malone saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bach takes a swing at Malone's ribcage but misses.
Malone takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Bach closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Bach fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Malone manages to avoid it.
A jab from Bach finds it's way through Malone's defenses.
A jab lands there for Bach.
Bach checks a leg kick.
Malone misses with a takedown
and Bach connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Bach closes the distance and lands a one-two.


It looks like Patrick Malone has been cut.
Malone looks gassed!

Bach works Malone's body with a nice hook.
Bach swinging wildly here.

Bach scores with a takedown into Malone's guard.
Bach advances position into side control!
Malone takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Malone gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Malone defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Bach.

Malone takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Malone tries to reverse the position but Bach maintains control.
Bach looking to control but Malone is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Bach has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Malone's face.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Malone is squirming around, avoiding Bach's attempts to control the action.
Malone is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Malone keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Bach cracks Malone with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Bach wants to control the pace but Malone is squirming around nicely.
Malone wants to try and get back to his feet.

Malone swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

Bach looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Bach trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Bach lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Bach controlling his opponent.
Bach looking to control but Malone is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Malone bucks up and throws Bach to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!

Bach feints and as Malone raises his hands in defense, Bach changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Malone tries to clinch but Bach moves away
and Bach counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Harry Bach is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bach looks to land a combination but Malone avoids it well.
Patrick Malone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bach goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Bach feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Bach loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Bach stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Malone swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Malone is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Malone is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Malone escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bach is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Malone can do to turn this around?

and Malone counters with a one-two to the body.
Malone tries to close the distance and clinch but Bach swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Malone throws a left and a right that both miss
and Bach connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Malone uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bach.
Bach ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Malone throws a hook to the side of Bach's head but Bach sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Bach's corner calls for a 1-2. Bach obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Bach scores with a hook to the body. Malone takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Bach lands with a right hand.
Malone tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bach sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Malone somewhat.
Malone takes one to the side of the head.
Malone moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Bach shoots for a takedown but Malone saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bach digs a good hook to Malone's body.

Bach closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Bach looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Malone tries to kick Bach off but Bach keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Bach keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Bach is trying to work for a kimura but Malone is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Malone takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

and Bach counters with a nice double leg into side control. Malone won't be happy with that.

Bach tries to pass the half guard into mount. Malone knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Bach is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Malone defends it well.

Bach is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Malone sees it coming and defends easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Malone looks like he's trying to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Malone tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bach was well out of range. Poor timing from Malone.

Bach fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Malone sprawls well initially but Bach persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Bach moves into full mount! Malone won't be happy about that!
Malone tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Malone sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Malone is not content to let Bach control the position.
Malone is trying to maintain the position but Bach is very close to passing his half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bach throwing shots but Malone is blocking nicely.

Bach is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Bach trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Malone wants to get back to his feet but Bach is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Malone bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Malone tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Malone has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
