PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Surayud Wongsawat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Strongius Shorticus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Surayud Wongsawat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Strongius Shorticus!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wongsawat staying out of range there.
Wongsawat is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Shorticus shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Shorticus showed some decent athleticism there.
Wongsawat is trying to get back to full guard.
Wongsawat has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Shorticus is working away from the top position though.
Shorticus lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Wongsawat is rocked!
Wongsawat looks like he's trying to stand up.
Oh Wongsawat is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shorticus drops an elbow to the side of Wongsawat's head.
Ground and pound from Shorticus.
Shorticus looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wongsawat with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wongsawat taking some punishment here, with Shorticus in his half guard.
Shorticus slips a nice elbow through Wongsawat's hands, connecting with Wongsawat's forehead.

Shorticus landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Shorticus moves nicely into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wongsawat can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shorticus is staying tight to Wongsawat's torso, preventing him from escaping.
You can see the frustration on Wongsawat's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Wongsawat is letting Shorticus control him for a moment.
Wongsawat tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Shorticus decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Wongsawat could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Shorticus closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wongsawat circles away.
Shorticus looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Shorticus looks gassed!
Wongsawat tries to clinch up.
Wongsawat fails with an attempt to clinch.
Wongsawat scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Shorticus shoots in for a takedown. He's got it... He's hoisted his opponent over his head and is carrying him over to the other end of the mat. The crowd roars in approval and Shorticus slams his opponent to the mat. OH, that is naaaaaasty! He's out! Shorticus lands a punch to his unconscious victim for good measure before the ref has time to call the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Strongius Shorticus!
