PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Simons III (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Domon Kasshu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that John Simons III has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily John Simons III seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Simons III!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Domon Kasshu!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Seu Braga.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kasshu misses with a double jab.
Kasshu looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kasshu doesn't manage to clinch there - Simons III circles away.
Kasshu digs a good hook to Simons III's body.
Kasshu goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Simons III tries for a takedown but Kasshu sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Simons III looks for a takedown but Kasshu sprawls well.
Simons III changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kasshu tries to avoid it but Simons III manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kasshu to the ground. Kasshu escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Simons III. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kasshu stuffs the takedown attempt from Simons III. Simons III gets slowly back to his feet.

Kasshu clinches with his opponent.
Simons III is trying to stall.

Kasshu escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Simons III closes the distance and clinches up with Kasshu, looking for a takedown. Simons III pushes Kasshu against the cage but Kasshu circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Simons III shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kasshu pinned against the cage. Kasshu gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kasshu changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Simons III looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Simons III is breathing heavily.

Kasshu has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Kasshu closes the distance and clinches.

Kasshu pulls guard effortlessly.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Simons III won't allow Kasshu to sweep him here.

Kasshu throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Simons III escapes and throws Kasshu's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Kasshu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Simons III. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kasshu is trying to buck Simons III off.

Kasshu is looking for a sweep.

Simons III swings around for an armbar but Kasshu sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Simons III's guard.
Simons III might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Kasshu has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Simons III to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Kasshu is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Simons III pulls down on the head and he's put Kasshu to sleep! This one is all over!
