The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Turcios or perhaps it was just good defense by jones which made him look bad.
Turcios shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says jones as he avoids it easily.

Turcios clinches up against the cage.

jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Turcios looks for a takedown but jones sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Christopher Turcios. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Turcios circles away from the clinch attempt

and Turcios counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
jones gets back to full guard.

jones is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

jones's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A head kick from jones lands but Turcios takes it in his stride.

It looks like Christopher Turcios has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and jones wants it to stay on the feet.
Turcios tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but jones paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Turcios avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Danga de danga de dang - jones scores with a four punch combination!

jones lands a big head kick that sends Turcios tumbling to the mat! jones takes a step backwards and waves Turcios back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Turcios is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Look low, kick high! jones uses the oldest trick in the book to send Turcios tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! jones is absolutely delighted - when Turcios wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
