Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Barney Fife!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Russell Jones!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a head kick that misses.
Jones tries to clinch up.
Jones scores with a head kick.
Jones lands with a slapping head kick.
Fife avoids the head kick by Jones.
Fife lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fife looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Jones wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Fife, who protects the arm well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Fife has escaped the position, nice work there.
Fife is trying to get back to half guard.

Fife is looking for a sweep.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Fife feints and then cracks Jones's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Jones down.
Jones pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Fife throws a quick inside leg kick.
Jones stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Fife.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fife paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jones is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jones walks into a left hand.
Fife avoids the head kick by Jones.
Jab by Fife.
Fife throws a one two combo.
Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Fife tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fife manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jones takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Jones looks gassed!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Fife can pounce on him.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Fife.
Fife lands an overhand right.
A nice leg kick lands there from Fife.
Jones walks into a jab.


It looks like Russell Jones has been cut.
Jones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Fife chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Good leg kick by Fife there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Fife blocks a head kick by Jones.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A chopping leg kick lands by Fife.
Jones takes a jab right on the kisser.
Jones takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Jones's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Fife cracks Jones with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Fife throws a quick inside leg kick.
Fife lands a head kick. Jones smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Fife is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Fife fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jones looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nice jab there from Fife.
Russell Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Fife cracks Jones with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.


Jones is rocked!
Fife walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Jones drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Fife swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Jones's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Barney Fife!
