Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Orton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Mihoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Mihoff will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mihoff circles away.

Orton looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Orton seems to be working for a kimura but Mihoff defends the submission attempt.

Orton got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mihoff has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Orton has managed to get both his arms back between Mihoff's legs - danger averted.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Orton wants to pass to mount but Mihoff is defending the position.

Orton is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mihoff defends it well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Orton lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Mihoff is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Orton pulls his head out easily.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Orton here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

That was a close second round but I would say that David Orton will probably get the nod.

Orton sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mihoff's guard.
Orton is just content to waste time from the top position. Mihoff takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
