Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bruce McGoose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Dudley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bruce McGoose!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Dudley!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGoose lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Dudley backs up against the cage.


It looks like Joe Dudley has been cut.
McGoose lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
A big left from Dudley misses.
McGoose lands a head kick!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Horrible takedown by Dudley or perhaps it was just good defense by McGoose which made him look bad.
Dudley tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McGoose swivels and escapes.
McGoose lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dudley circles away quickly and effectively.
McGoose ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

McGoose lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Dudley sprawling to the canvas. McGoose follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Dudley hang on?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dudley is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dudley is not content to let McGoose control the position.
Dudley pushes McGoose off but McGoose dives into side control.
Dudley looks gassed!

McGoose tries for a kimura but Dudley is defending well.
McGoose advances to mount.

McGoose postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Dudley looks a forlorn figure.


That has opened up Joe Dudley's cut even more.
McGoose breaks from Dudley's wrist control and lands an elbow.
McGoose blocks Dudley's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
McGoose can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dudley is looking to escape.
The referee warns Dudley that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
McGoose pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.


The cut above Joe Dudley's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
McGoose has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Dudley is looking to get to half guard.
Dudley wants to hold on but McGoose pushes him away.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dudley can do anything to dispel that myth.

McGoose lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Dudley staying busy and making it hard for McGoose to control.

McGoose is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Dudley defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
McGoose trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

McGoose looking to break Dudley's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Dudley remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise McGoose will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Dudley swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and McGoose is now in Dudley's guard. A big mistake from Dudley there, giving up the dominant position!

McGoose looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

McGoose decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dudley must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

McGoose manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dudley manages to get himself to full guard.

I really don't envy Dudley right now.

McGoose has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Dudley's body.

Joe Dudley's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

McGoose remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Well McGoose has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
