Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Slava Tikhonov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Slava Tikhonov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Stephen Reyes!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tikhonov scores with a decent looking hook.
Reyes tries to clinch there but Tikhonov circles away.
Tikhonov fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Tikhonov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Tikhonov misses the shot to the body.
Tikhonov throws a right and a left that both miss.
Tikhonov tries to close the distance and clinch but Reyes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Tikhonov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Reyes moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Tikhonov is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Reyes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tikhonov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Reyes is staying active underneath Tikhonov, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Reyes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tikhonov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Reyes has managed to get both his arms back between Tikhonov's legs - danger averted.
Tikhonov can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Reyes controls the pace.
Reyes won't allow Tikhonov to sweep him here.

Reyes would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Tikhonov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Reyes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Tikhonov sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Tikhonov is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Reyes can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Tikhonov is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Reyes to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Reyes shrugs it off.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Tikhonov has control of Reyes's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Reyes regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Slava Tikhonov is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tikhonov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
