Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Boy Bastos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bastos comes into the arena with Victory blaring out of the sound system. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Boy Bastos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marcus Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bastos defends it nicely.

Bastos has Lewis up against the cage in a clinch.

Bastos manages to break the clinch.
Lewis tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Bastos drives through and clinches with Lewis against the cage.

Bastos is pressed up against the cage. Lewis has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bastos down to the mat. Bastos avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Bastos tries to reverse the position but Lewis maintains control.
You get the feeling that Bastos really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Lewis has hold of Bastos's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bastos manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Bastos is working to get back to half guard.

Lewis moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bastos has worked his arm free - good work by Bastos!

Bastos sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Bastos holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Lewis is looking for a kimura but Bastos is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lewis to get the leverage.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bastos is positioning himself well to prevent Lewis advancing to mount.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Bastos escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Bastos gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Lewis regains guard.

and Bastos counters with a thumping low kick.

Bastos closes the distance and pushes Lewis back into the cage.

Bastos gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lewis to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Lewis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bastos swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lewis passes Bastos's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Bastos has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lewis is working away from the top position though.

Bastos throws a leg kick but Lewis moved away.
A slapping leg kick lands for Bastos.
Lewis doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Bastos counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bastos.
Bastos lands a good knee to the midsection. Lewis won't want to take too many of those.

Bastos darts in and clinches Lewis up against the cage.

Lewis sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Bastos misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bastos fails to land the takedown.
Boy Bastos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
