Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harry Spackman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and kev smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). smith is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: summertime. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
smith shoots in but no luck this time.
smith has a takedown stuffed.
smith shoots in but Spackman avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Harry Spackman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of kev smith.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Spackman.
Spackman works to advance to full mount. smith defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Spackman jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but smith manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Spackman tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Spackman is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, smith has escaped the position, nice work there.
Spackman wants to control for a moment but smith uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
smith has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Spackman is working away from the top position though.
Spackman is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Spackman looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
smith is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Spackman pulls his head out easily.
smith looks gassed!

Spackman wants to pass the guard but smith is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spackman throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Spackman counters with a single leg into guard. smith didn't expect that.
smith can't keep his opponent in guard - Spackman advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Spackman is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for smith!
smith is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
smith can't escape the position.

smith is squirming around, avoiding Spackman's attempts to control the action.

Spackman goes for an armbar but he's not got it… smith turns into him and now he's in Spackman's guard.
Spackman could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Spackman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. smith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. smith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Spackman is trying to drag smith to the mat but smith just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Spackman drops back, looking for a kneebar! smith looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. smith looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from smith!
Spackman tries to get back to half guard but can't.
smith is looking to take a break and control but Spackman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Spackman manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Spackman is trying for a kimura here. smith looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Spackman wins by kimura!
