Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Murder Face (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Murder Face!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcus Drake!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Felipe Paraventi and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Face is trying hard to land a takedown here. Drake sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Drake fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Face manages to avoid it.
Drake throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Face shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Drake pinned against the cage. Drake gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Face.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Murder Face. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Face throws a low kick but it's checked well by Drake.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Drake misses with a wild combination.
Drake tries to clinch there but Face circles away.
Drake just misses with a punch to the body.
Drake tries to close the distance and clinch up but Face swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Drake fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Face manages to avoid it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Drake slaps away a takedown attempt from Face, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Face avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Drake swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Drake takes a swing at Face's ribcage but misses.

Face changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Drake looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Face controls the position from side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Drake wants to control but Face postures up.
Face staying calm.
Drake wants to control but Face postures up.
Face moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Drake is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Face happy to just control the position for now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Murder Face dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Face shoots in and drives through. Drake sprawls well.
Drake misses with a wild combination.

Drake throws a body punch but Face moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Drake looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A looping hook to the body misses from Drake. Face does a little dance to reset his feet.
Face fails to land the takedown.
Face takes a jab right on the kisser.
Marcus Drake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Face shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Drake is trying to control the position but Face postures up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Drake can do anything to dispel that myth.
Face controlling from the top position.
Face slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Murder Face just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Drake tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Face was well out of range. Poor timing from Drake.
Face circles away from the clinch attempt.
Drake throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Drake is looking to clinch.
Marcus Drake is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Drake lunges at Face with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Face's hand.
A left lands for Drake.
Face shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Drake defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Murder Face. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Face throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Drake's waist but Drake gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Face off to one side.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcus Drake showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Face's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Drake misses with the combination.
Face circles away from the clinch attempt.
Face tries to score a power double leg takedown but Drake sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Face somewhat.
Drake tries to close the distance and clinch but Face swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Face moves away from the strike by Drake.
Drake thows a body shot but no joy.
Drake ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Face moves away.
Face uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Drake.
Drake scores with a body shot.
Drake lands a two punch combo.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Drake throws an overhand right that lands on Face's shoulder, as Face tries to avoid the shot.
Drake lands with a cross.
Face uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Drake.

Face shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Face showed some decent athleticism there.
Face stalling.
Drake is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Face scores with a couple of nice shots.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Face is taking a breather. Drake says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Face wants to free his trapped foot but Drake is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Face not doing much here.
Drake wants to control but Face is keeping busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Face prevents Drake from standing back up.
Still in half guard, Face seems content to control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Drake is in trouble now - Face has advanced to mount!

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Marcus Drake.
I think Drake has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
