Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Corey Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian Beale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Corey Stevenson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ian Beale!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beale ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Stevenson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Stevenson feints and as Beale raises his hands in defense, Stevenson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Beale is wriggling around but Stevenson manages to pass to half guard.
Beale is trying to stand up here but Stevenson is controlling him well.
Stevenson slips a nice elbow through Beale's hands, connecting with Beale's forehead.
Stevenson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Beale!
Beale trying desperately to get to his feet.
Stevenson breaks from Beale's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Beale's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Stevenson throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Beale because Stevenson loaded up on that one.
Beale is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Stevenson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Beale looks a forlorn figure.

Stevenson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Beale sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Stevenson somewhat.

Beale misses with a looping right.
Stevenson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Stevenson looks to land a combination but Beale avoids it well.

Stevenson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Beale sprawls well initially but Stevenson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Stevenson is breathing heavily.

Stevenson is trying to work for a kimura but Beale is defending well.
Beale wants to get back to his feet.

Stevenson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Beale makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Beale loads up on a big right hand but Stevenson slips the punch.

Beale takes the fight into the clinch.

Stevenson has Beale pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Stevenson pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Beale tumbling to the mat - Stevenson dives into Beale's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Stevenson stops Beale from standing up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stevenson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Stevenson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Beale is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Beale throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Beale throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Beale looks to land a right hand but Stevenson moved out of range.

Stevenson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Stevenson goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Beale turns into him and now he's in Stevenson's guard.

Stevenson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Beale gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Beale is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stevenson pulls Beale in close to prevent any damage.

Stevenson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Beale stands up and waves to Stevenson to follow him.
Beale throws a head kick but Stevenson moves out of range.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

and Stevenson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Beale's guard now.
Stevenson won't allow Beale to get back to his feet.
Stevenson tries to free his leg and advance position but Beale is retaining full guard.

Beale manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Stevenson avoids a punch combination nicely.

Beale with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Stevenson to score with a decent uppercut.
Beale pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stevenson stalks Beale and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Beale's face. Beale staggers backwards, shaken.
Stevenson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Beale is fending him off so far but Stevenson persists. Nope, Beale circles away and we're back to standing.

Stevenson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Beale tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Stevenson is able to avoid easily.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Beale looks to score with a jab to the body but Stevenson is just out of range.

Beale is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Stevenson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Beale regains guard immediately.

Beale has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Stevenson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Stevenson wants to work for an arm triangle but Beale is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Beale pushes Stevenson off and gets back to his feet.

Oh but Stevenson is tightening it up a little... Beale has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Beale reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Beale taps out! nice BJJ there by Stevenson!
