The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

John throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hardy was covering up waiting for the punch and John finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Hardy throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
John wants to pass the guard but Hardy is keeping the position.
John advances to half guard.
John uses his free foot to push down on Hardy's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hardy.
Hardy is squirming around, avoiding John's attempts to control the action.
John prevents Hardy from getting the reversal.
Hardy is working hard here to advance position.
John is looking to work his way around to Hardy's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
John works his way to his opponent's back.
I really don't envy Hardy right now.
John is looking to control Hardy but Hardy is wriggling around and keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hardy tries to roll but John sticks to his back.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hardy is breathing heavily.

John is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Hardy with him. Hardy is trying to defend but John has an arm under the chin now! Hardy grimaces and is forced to tap out!
