PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck McNorris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simmons has chosen Tomoyasu Hotei - Battle Without Honour or Humanity as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chuck McNorris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ron Simmons!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simmons lunges at McNorris with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by McNorris's hand.


It looks like Chuck McNorris has been cut.
McNorris slips a jab from Simmons.
McNorris really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
McNorris works the jab nicely.
Simmons misses with a jab, cross combination.
The fighters circling - Simmons throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Simmons throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Simmons throws an overhand right that lands on McNorris's shoulder, as McNorris tries to avoid the shot.
A combination from Simmons does no damage.
McNorris pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
McNorris looks to land a right hand but Simmons moved out of range.
Simmons jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A punch combination from Simmons misses.
Simmons misses with a wild combination.
McNorris showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Simmons.
McNorris lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

McNorris throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Simmons was covering up waiting for the punch and McNorris finishes the takedown easily into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McNorris throws a big right hand that misses.
McNorris is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
McNorris postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
McNorris distracts Simmons with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
McNorris prevents Simmons from getting back to his feet.
Simmons being controlled here, momentarily.
McNorris has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
McNorris seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Simmons for as long as he can get away with.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Simmons wants to stand up but McNorris is controlling him.
McNorris stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Simmons swivels though and keeps the full guard.
McNorris makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Simmons is looking to stand up but McNorris isn't so interested in that idea.

McNorris thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
McNorris is stalling in the full guard.
McNorris passes into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Simmons tries to kick McNorris off but McNorris keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
McNorris scoring with strikes to the body and head.
McNorris stalling.
McNorris's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Simmons is looking to get back to is feet but McNorris passes into side control.
McNorris lands a few punches from side control.

McNorris is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Simmons is trying to escape and McNorris transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Simmons is forced to tap! Nice work there by McNorris! Very nice indeed!
