PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Wesley Gattuso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Stout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gattuso kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is doo doo doo. Stout is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Back in Black - AC/DC. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Stout!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stout bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Gattuso's head backwards.
Gattuso takes a kick to the side of the head.

Gattuso gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Stout to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Gattuso keeping full guard, as Stout tries to pass.
Gattuso wants to stand and escape but Stout is having none of it.
Stout wants to pass the guard but Gattuso is keeping the position.
Gattuso wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stout got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gattuso has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stout has managed to get both his arms back between Gattuso's legs - danger averted.

Stout stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Gattuso throws a body punch but Stout moves out of range.

Stout scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Stout lands a nice forearm strike.

Stout is trying to get an arm triangle but Gattuso is defending well.
Gattuso manages to get back to half guard.
Gattuso is looking to improve his position.
Gattuso keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Stout not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Stout is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gattuso defends it well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Stout uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Nice sprawl there from Gattuso as Stout shoots in.
Stout shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gattuso as he avoids it easily.
Stout tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gattuso paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Gattuso moves in looking to clinch but Stout pushes him off.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gattuso.

Stout drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Gattuso knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stout on the ground.

Stout working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Stout is sitting in close to Gattuso's body. Gattuso has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Stout is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Stout is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Gattuso.
