Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pekka Heino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Sandoval (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Heino's entrance music is Caesars - Jerk It Out. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pete Sandoval!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Konstantin Menshow and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sandoval fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Heino is looking to clinch but Sandoval is avoiding it.
Sandoval throws a head kick but Heino moves out of range.
Sandoval misses with a wild combination.
Heino waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sandoval.
Heino shoots in for a takedown but Sandoval shows good takedown defense.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Heino instigates a clinch.
Sandoval is trying to force a seperation but Heino has the dominant position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Sandoval defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Heino.

Heino jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Sandoval manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Heino tries for a kimura but Sandoval is defending well.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Heino shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sandoval defends it nicely.

Heino tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sandoval paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sandoval misses with a hook. Heino ducked under it nicely.
Heino moves in looking to clinch but Sandoval pushes him off.
Heino wants to clinch up but Sandoval keeps it at a distance.
Sandoval throws a right hand that Heino ducks under and follows up with a left that Heino also avoids with ease.

Sandoval circles away from the clinch attempt.

Sandoval lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Heino circles away quickly and effectively.
Sandoval rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Heino moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Heino.
Heino passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Sandoval!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Heino is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Sandoval to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Sandoval shrugs it off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Pete Sandoval will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The cut man is working on Pekka Heino's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Heino closes the distance and clinches up with Sandoval, looking for a takedown. Heino pushes Sandoval against the cage but Sandoval circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Sandoval misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Heino has Sandoval up against the cage in a clinch.

Heino tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sandoval just stands there and leans against the cage.

Heino jumps guard and drags Sandoval to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Heino is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sandoval trying to stand up but can't free himself from Heino's guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Heino looking for a sweep. Not yet Heino, not yet.

Heino lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sandoval!

Heino goes for an armbar but Sandoval turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Sandoval.
Heino is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Heino is working for a submission of some sort.

Heino tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sandoval knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

And that's the end of the fight!
Pekka Heino showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Heino has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
