The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez fails to land the takedown.
Mendez fails with a takedown attempt.
Reaper fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Mendez on the side of the head.
Mendez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Reaper swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edward Mendez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mendez is breathing heavily.
Reaper lands a glancing blow to the side of Mendez's head.
Reaper stuffs the takedown attempt from Mendez. Mendez gets slowly back to his feet.
Reaper lands a body shot.

Reaper clinches up against the ropes.
Reaper gets through Mendez's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Reaper has Mendez pressed up against the ropes. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Reaper pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Mendez tumbling to the mat - Reaper dives into Mendez's guard.

Mendez has momentary wrist control but Reaper slips an elbow through the middle.
Reaper postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
