Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Demian Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronaldo Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Souza has chosen Taio Cruz - Dynamite as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Maia to the mat! Maia manages to get full guard.
Souza controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Souza tries to free his leg and advance position but Maia is retaining full guard.

Souza changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Maia looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
