PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Chase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robbie Salazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Chase might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bobcaygeon. Salazar has chosen Antistar (by Massive Attack) as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Salazar.
Chase throws a sloppy head kick and Salazar moves out of range easily.
Chase thows a left - swing and a miss!
Chase throws out a loose jab but Salazar uses good head movement to avoid it.
Salazar shoots in and drives through. Chase sprawls well.
Chase throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Chase thuds his shin into the meat of Salazar's side.
Salazar tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Chase paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Salazar throws a shot to the body.

Salazar misses the jab.
Salazar lands with a hook. Chase tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Salazar scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Salazar is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Chase.

Salazar shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Salazar wants to work for an arm triangle but Chase is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Salazar is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Chase is squirming around, avoiding Salazar's attempts to control the action.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Salazar is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Chase has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Chase!

Salazar is looking to sinch up a triangle. Chase throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Salazar's body to avoid the submission. Salazar has instead reached around Chase's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Salazar arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
