Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fischer Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Therman Goodson!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Anthony Taglia and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goodson feints and as Jackson raises his hands in defense, Goodson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Goodson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Goodson postures up.
Goodson stops Jackson from standing up.
Goodson drops back looking for a leg! Jackson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jackson manages to kick Goodson off! Goodson jumps back into Jackson's guard.
Jackson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Goodson is controlling him.
Jackson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Goodson on the ground.
Jackson is trying to keep Goodson in close.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Goodson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Goodson showed some decent athleticism there.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jackson is trying to maintain the position but Goodson is very close to passing his half guard.
Goodson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Jackson looking for submissions off his back.
Goodson is thwarting Jackson's attempts to control the position.
Jackson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Goodson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Goodson's back!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Jackson is trying to stick to Goodson's back but Goodson is turning into Jackson. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Jackson's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Goodson.
Goodson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Goodson looks gassed!
Jackson trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Jackson throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Jackson throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Goodson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jackson's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackson tries to kick Goodson off but Goodson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Goodson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jackson defends it well.
Jackson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Goodson drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Goodson seems to have locked his on tight now - Jackson screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Goodson, as he picks up the win!
