Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tim Leston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hanzo Hasashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leston comes to the cage accompanied by BigB - Hooligan. Hasashi has chosen Into the Battlefield as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tim Leston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hanzo Hasashi!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hasashi tries to clinch but Leston is having none of it.
Leston with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Hasashi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Leston as he jumps to the side.
A big left from Hasashi misses.
Some wild striking there from Leston.
Hanzo Hasashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Leston misses with a series of wild punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Horrible takedown by Hasashi or perhaps it was just good defense by Leston which made him look bad.

Hasashi fails with a takedown attempt.
Tim Leston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hanzo Hasashi.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Leston fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hasashi manages to avoid it.
Leston uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hasashi.
Leston tries to bum rush Hasashi with a series of wild strikes but Hasashi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Hasashi throws a hook but Leston avoids it easily.

Hasashi drops back looking for a leg! Leston is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Leston manages to kick Hasashi off! Hasashi jumps back into Leston's guard.
Leston is looking to stand up but Hasashi isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Leston can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hasashi controls the pace.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Hasashi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Leston avoids it really well and circles away.
No joy there for Leston, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tim Leston will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Leston swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

It looks like Hanzo Hasashi has been cut.
Hasashi misses with a straight right.
Leston works the jab nicely.


Hasashi is rocked!
Leston comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hasashi tries to clinch but Leston is having none of it.
Hasashi shoots for a takedown but Leston saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Leston connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hasashi's hands.

Hasashi slips a straight right by Leston.
Leston throws a hook to the side of Hasashi's head but Hasashi sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hasashi dodges the punch combination from Leston.
Hasashi fails with the takedown.
Tim Leston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hanzo Hasashi.
Leston misses with a few strikes there.

Hasashi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Leston looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Leston is trying to get back to his feet.
Hasashi is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Hasashi prevents Leston from escaping the position.
Leston trying to remain calm as Hasashi controls from the top position.

Hasashi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hasashi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Hasashi working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Hasashi is breathing heavily.

Hasashi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Leston is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Leston is not content to let Hasashi control the position.
Leston is trying to buck Hasashi off.

Hasashi looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Hasashi is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Leston has escaped the position, nice work there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tim Leston dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Hanzo Hasashi's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Hasashi walks into a stiff left hand from Leston.
Leston rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hasashi moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hasashi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Leston misses with an uppercut. Hasashi saw that one coming.
A combination from Leston does no damage.

A nice right hand lands inside from Leston.
Leston wants to get back to striking at distance but Hasashi won't allow it.
Hasashi is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Leston gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Leston wants to break free but Hasashi has control.
The referee calls for Hasashi to work.

Hasashi is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Leston can't fight it off and eventually Hasashi manages to take the fight to the floor. Leston looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hasashi shoots in for a double leg but Leston sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Leston lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Hasashi is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Hasashi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Leston wants to get back to his feet.
Still in half guard, Hasashi seems content to control.
Hasashi wants to pass the guard but Leston is defending well.
Leston is trying to stand back up but Hasashi is controlling him

Hanzo Hasashi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tim Leston is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tim Leston.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Leston, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
