The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McRae throws a quick inside leg kick.
Chippy shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A telegraphed right hand from McRae misses the target.
McRae throws a head kick that misses.
Chippy on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Chippy fails to land the takedown.

McRae lunges at Chippy with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Chippy's hand.

Rik McRae has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hello Chippy.
Chippy takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Chippy shoots in looking for a takedown. McRae tries to sprawl out of it but Chippy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McRae manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
McRae cracks Chippy with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Chippy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McRae pinned against the cage. McRae gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
McRae cracks Chippy with a right hand to the side of the head.

McRae manages to get to full guard.
Chippy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
McRae bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Chippy's guard.

McRae pushes down on Chippy's leg and manages to get into half guard.
McRae thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Chippy's head.

McRae slips a nice elbow through Chippy's hands, connecting with Chippy's forehead.

McRae is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Chippy sees it coming and defends easily.

McRae is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
McRae looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

McRae is looking for a kimura but Chippy is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McRae to get the leverage.

Chippy is trying to escape the mount.
Chippy is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McRae postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Chippy in real trouble here! The ref calls for Chippy to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
