The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lam jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A jab from Lam finds it's way through Bateman's defenses.
Lam takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looks like John Lam has been cut.
Lam thows a left - swing and a miss!
Lam swats away the attempt to clinch by Bateman.
Bateman pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bateman doesn't manage to clinch there - Lam circles away.
Lam throws a hook to the side of Bateman's head but Bateman sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Lam misses with an uppercut. Bateman saw that one coming.
Bateman connects with a solid leg kick.

Bateman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lam tries to avoid it but Bateman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lam to the ground. Lam escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Bateman fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Lam looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Lam uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bateman.
Bateman scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Bateman lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Good leg kick by Bateman there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Bateman thumps Lam with a low kick.
Bateman connects with a solid leg kick.
Lam takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Bateman lands a big head kick that sends Lam tumbling to the mat! Bateman takes a step backwards and waves Lam back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Bateman connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Lam's hands.
Bateman lands a jab to the nose.
Bateman rushes Lam with punches - Lam moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Lam goes down! Bateman follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
