PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Flauterio Toglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keith Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Toglas might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bodies. Flauterio Toglas has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Flauterio Toglas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Keith Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shirou Masuda and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toglas doesn't manage to clinch there - Sanchez circles away.
Sanchez lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Toglas wants to clinch.
Sanchez scores with a three punch combo!
Sanchez cracks Toglas with a right hand to the side of the head.
Toglas misses with a takedown attempt - Sanchez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Sanchez gets the takedown into side control.
Toglas wants to control but Sanchez postures up.

Sanchez decides to stand up, so the ref orders Toglas to his feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Toglas.
Sanchez scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Toglas doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Toglas gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Sanchez gets to his feet - Toglas follows without any prompting.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Toglas scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Sanchez doesn't seem bothered though.
Sanchez looks to land a combination but Toglas avoids it well.
Sanchez connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Toglas fails with the takedown

and Sanchez counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sanchez.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Flauterio Toglas. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Toglas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sanchez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sanchez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Sanchez wanted to stand there but Toglas had control of the position.

Sanchez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Toglas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sanchez has managed to get both his arms back between Toglas's legs - danger averted.

Sanchez stands up and waves to Toglas to follow him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Toglas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sanchez swivels and escapes.

Toglas closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sanchez did well to prevent Toglas getting side control.

Toglas looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Toglas stops Sanchez from getting back to his feet.
Toglas missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Toglas prevents Sanchez from standing back up.
Sanchez looks gassed!
Sanchez is staying active underneath Toglas, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Toglas stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Sanchez looks to land a combination but Toglas avoids it well.
Toglas has his takedown stuffed

and Sanchez counters with a shoot takedown. Toglas fights it but they end up in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sanchez is looking to stand up but Toglas won't let him.

Toglas is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Sanchez tries to stand but Toglas is controlling from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Toglas trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Toglas working for a triangle but Sanchez defends it easily.

Toglas is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Sanchez wants to stand but Toglas is controlling his posture from full guard.

Toglas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sanchez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Toglas is tightening it up a little... Sanchez has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Sanchez reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Sanchez taps out! nice BJJ there by Toglas!
