PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Crash Bandicoot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ethan Mars (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bandicoot comes to the cage accompanied by Crash Bandicoot: Jungle Rollers Remix. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Crash Bandicoot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ethan Mars!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mars tries to clinch up but Bandicoot circles away and keeps his distance.
Bandicoot throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mars's waist but Mars gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bandicoot off to one side.

and Mars counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Bandicoot has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mars is working away from the top position though.
Mars is pressing down on Bandicoot's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bandicoot is holding on for now.
Bandicoot pushes Mars off looking to stand but Mars dives back in and keeps control.

Bandicoot has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mars is working away from the top position though.

Mars is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Bandicoot wants to hold on but Mars pushes him away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

It looks like Crash Bandicoot has been cut.
Bandicoot tries to control the position but Mars now has his back.
Bandicoot manages to reverse the position and now he's in Mars's guard. Nice work there by Bandicoot.
Bandicoot trying to control the position from guard on top but Mars is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mars is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Bandicoot working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Mars is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mars seems to be working for a kimura but Bandicoot defends the submission attempt.

and Mars counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bandicoot won't be happy with that.

Bandicoot is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mars is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mars has escaped and now he's on top!

Bandicoot escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mars gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's time! Bandicoot's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

and Mars counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Mars.
Mars trying to stall but Bandicoot improves his position.
Mars takes an elbow to the forehead.
Mars is trying to drag Bandicoot to the mat but Bandicoot just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Bandicoot utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Bandicoot misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Mars.
Mars avoiding damage as Bandicoot throws knees to the body.
Mars tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bandicoot smiles and moves away.
Mars chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Bandicoot can pounce on him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Mars closes the distance and clinches.
Bandicoot tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Mars avoids it.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Mars manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Bandicoot trying to control the position from guard on top but Mars is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mars manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bandicoot manages to get himself to full guard.

Mars stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Mars closes the distance but Bandicoot moves to the side

and Bandicoot counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Mars jumps into guard, dragging Bandicoot to the mat.
Bandicoot loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Mars keeping moving, preventing Bandicoot from controlling successfully.
Mars lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bandicoot!
Bandicoot is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Bandicoot defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Mars.
Mars mounts Bandicoot! Really nice guard pass there!
Mars breaks from Bandicoot's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Bandicoot wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Mars.
Bandicoot is trying desperately to improve position.
Bandicoot is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Mars takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Mars is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Bandicoot can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Bandicoot can't escape the position.
Mars putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Bandicoot is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Mars has taken his back!

Mars has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Bandicoot! Can he survive? No! He's out! Mars gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
